A peek inside...and out of Fairytale Incorporated

Here's  a peek inside and out...of Fairytale Incorporated

In a one hundred year old barn perched upon a sand dune in Saugatuck Michigan, there you will find Fairytale Incorporated.
Three years ago, several people wanted to tear down this lovely creature. And from the sight of it...you might agree!

But with the hard work and determination of craftsmen Dave Scholten Custom Remodeling and Dave Ciolek Barn Restoration this barn found a new beginning.

Believe it or not, much of the existing wood and flooring was saved.    And any replacement wood needed was obtained by other barns that were being dismantled.  So. it's safe to say no other barns were harmed in the re-making of this barn!

It took one long, but thankfully mild winter to hand crank this barn into shape.

The hole in the roof was the size of a tree. As a matter of fact, there was a tree growing in the roof.

After deciding to keep the outside in it's original condition. The artistic craftsmen insulated the walls and lined them with corrugated steel. A great touch that aligns the present with the past.
Today, the barn serves as a studio for the creations of Fairytale Incorporated.  Housed with sewing machines, fabrics, kilns and clays.   From the newest creation Bo Peep dresses, to Secret Recipe Boxes, fit for a Queen of course and Hand Bakes Cake Plates delicious enough to eat, something new gets created everyday.

The celebration of the re-birth of this barn was truly the beginning of the fairytale. No one thought the barn could be saved, but when you wish upon a star, anything is possible.
